I was working on this one for quite a while in pencil. i couldn’t find my camera battery charger and didnt want to start coloring until i could record the process.
The sketching continued and i began to feel overwhelmed by the amount of detail i would have to color. Black and white was an alternative route but i felt like i would be copping out. The original plan was to go big on color and i felt committed to it.Prismacolors, pens, sharpies, paint markers… I found an old Design marker (series 1) and decided to use it as well. The smell brought me back to sessions at my crib in Forest Hills during the late 80’s.
Halfway through the color process i found my charger. I’ll be sure to record the next project. In the meantime, here is the stitch i did of the full “Bassline” piece. It’s a composite of 15 scans due to the size of the page.
