as far as the dnb room goes:
-all sets were pushed back
-i let everyone play as long as they wanted, rather than be a bitchass about start time.
-turntable 2 was not working properly???? weird, cuz at the end of the night we tested it and it worked just fine. SABOTAGE I SAY !!!

RobRewind pays bills. good looks!

FTL was in rare form at the table. Made some sales, but got super wasted and was barely responding to questions. :)

Who the fuck was that girl trying to politic making accessories for us, but would not give out her phone number because she thought her boyfriend would get mad??? you'll get far, girl.

Where's my $$$ ?

Oh my god. George, thank you so much for sending me this. I am truly inspired.

Charity:Water

All my friends know i dont touch tap water, except (as chris rock said) to tap my balls. I wash with it, i do dishes with it, but i refuse to drink it. I buy an average of two large glass Perrier bottles per day. I know that using glass to package is in some ways detrimental to the environment, but i simply dont trust tap water and the taste from plastic bottle. yes, im serious. check out this charity:

BUG (2006)

Ashley Judd is hot and believable. Her co-star, whatshisname? ahh yes, Michael Shannon, was damn good! freakydeaky stuff. He seamlessly goes from pussy weirdo to intense weirdo, taking Ashley along for the ride. Originally written to be a play, most of the film... wait, ALL of the film takes place in one apartment... or is that a hotel room? Directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist), the concept is awesome. Its definately something you need to watch yourself. *Rentable! Booyah!

Gone Baby Gone

This flick was directed by Ben Affleck, starring his younger brother, Casey. I dont know. I didnt hate it, but Casey kinda bothers me... in every movie. I am assuming the characters he plays are supposed to bother the viewer, because he does it so well. I'd hate to think that he is just that weasly in real life... who knows?

synopsis : a little girl disappears and the family hires a private dick to talk to people that are unwilling to cooperate with police. A neighborhood drug dealer turns out to be the hero of this story, providing key tips and ultimately finding the kidnappers.

like i said, i dont hate it. But then again, i dont necessarily hate the dentist either. i will have to dissent from my dad's and brother's opinion on this one. Sorry, Ben. you too.

Happy Birthday, Genesis !

Hellboy 2 Adidas

Man, these are so much better than the movie. The plot was a Lord of the Rings ripoff and i actually fell asleep during the movie. Sorry, Ron. The sneakers are hot though... and still not too expensive at a hundred bucks if you can find them.

Mexican Breakfast This Morning

Huevos Rancheros are just not the same without guacamole and crispy tortilla...
but hey, i like my tacos crunchy, so i guess my opinion holds little weight (unlike my stomache).

Konkrete Jungle BKNY

Konkrete Jungle is taking their big bass sound to Europa for a special night of Jungle/DnB & DubStep. Both levels of the club will be vibrating with riddims provided by some of your favorite Konkrete residents, alongside Marcus Visionary. A good look for Greenpoint junglists. Boh!

METHODS & UNGERGROUNDHIPHOP.COM COLLABO

The new fitted hats should be in this week. For this hat we're bringing back the Bishop "SixShooter" design. The front of the hat sports an oversized gun logo embroidery. Inside is details with targets and the underbill is riddled with bullets for a gunshot "METHODS" print. We will have all sizes by the 1/8".

Amelie vs Elephant Man

Have you ever noticed how similar the Amelie soundtrack is to the Elephant Man soundtrack?
you tell me. am i bugging?

The Amelie soundtrack was composed by Yann Tiersen. The director bought up all of his material upon first hearing it. mostly piano and accordian driven. eerie, but somehow comforting.

The Elephant Man is one of the few David Lynch films that Angelo Badalamenti DID NOT score. This work was done by John Morris, who composed many other films (most of them produced by Mel Brooks, who picked David Lynch to work on The Elephant Man).

Other John Morris soundtracks:
The Blackwater Lightship (2004), The Lady in Question (1999), Murder in a Small Town (1999), Ellen Foster (1997), Life Stinks (1991), Stella (1990), Second Sight (1989), The Wash (1988), Ironweed (1987), Dirty Dancing (1987), Spaceballs (1987), Haunted Honeymoon (1986), Clue (1985), The Doctor and the Devils (1985), Johnny Dangerously(1984), The Woman in Red (1984), To Be or Not to Be (1983), Yellowbeard (1983), Table for Five (1983), History of the World: Part I (1981), The Elephant Man (1980), In God We Tru$t (1980), The In-Laws (1979), High Anxiety (1977), The World's Greatest Lover (1977), The Last Remake of Beau Geste (1977), Silent Movie (1976), The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother (1975), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein(1974), Bank Shot (1974), The Twelve Chairs (1970), The Gamblers (1970), The Producers (1968)

an interesting bit of trivia re: The Elephant Man -
"When the nominees for the 53rd Annual Academy Awards were announced in February 1981, many in the industry were appalled that this movie was not going to be honored for its make-up effects. At the time [makeup] was not regular category... Feeling that the make-up technicians deserved to be rewarded for the film, a letter a protest was sent to the Academy's Board of Governors to ask them to change their minds and give the film a special award. The Academy refused, but in response to the outcry, they decided a year later to reward make-up artists with their own annual category, and thus the best make-up award was born." (imdb.com)
